Princess Fawzia of Egypt announced the launch of NILAZUR www.nilazur.com, an online boutique of decorative objects, jewelry and accessories that promotes the know-how of Egyptian artisans in Europe and builds a bridge between her two beloved countries: Monaco and Egypt.

NILAZUR is headquartered in Monaco  with an office in Monaco Boost, a business incubator. "The prestige of Monaco, with its international community, its breathtaking cultural and event calendar, as well as its dream location on the Côte d'Azur, make it the ideal operational center to initiate a business and to promote Egyptian culture in Europe," stressed Fawzia of Egypt.

"The Principality of Monaco benefits from an ideal business climate to create a company with a European base. I am grateful to the Monegasque institutions for the invaluable support that has been crucial in facilitating the successful launch of NILAZUR.” “Stocking Nilazur’s little treasures in France and Monaco allows for fast delivery throughout Europe, and a customer service worthy of a luxury brand,” she adds. For the moment, the boutique only ships to Europe.

Each item allows customers to connect with the soul of Egypt through authentic, handmade treasures, carefully selected by Her Royal Highness herself, from all corners of Egypt. The initial collection includes bags, stoles, jewelry, papyrus, sculptures and home accessories.

“I want to share Egypt’s timeless know-how with the world,” said Princess Fawzia. “I also like the idea of uniting the unique heritage of Egypt and the chic of the Côte d'Azur, to create an alliance that speaks to a refined and philanthropic clientele,” she added.

“With Nilazur, we invite you to discover an eternal and borderless Egypt, which speaks to the collective unconscious of all humanity not only through handmade objects of exquisite beauty, but also through the stories of the artisans who created them,” emphasized its Founder.

Each product in the NILAZUR collection is eco-designed, using natural raw materials such as alabaster, known for its luminous beauty, steatite, used for millennia by artists to create timeless masterpieces, world-renowned Egyptian cotton, beautiful wood species, etc. Some products use upcycling. A jewelry collection entitled “Terre d’Egypte”, designed by Princess Fawzia, will be unveiled at the end of 2024.

Princess Fawzia Farouk of Egypt, born on February 12, 1982 in Monte Carlo, is named after her great-aunt, Fawzia Fouad, the former Empress of Iran. She is the granddaughter of King Farouk. The princess grew up between Morocco, France and Switzerland, where her family lived in exile.

Princess Fawzia graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Strasbourg, from which she also obtained a Master’s degree in European Studies, followed by a second Master’s degree in Cultural Event Management at Paris 8. Her connection with Egyptian culture began in Paris, during her childhood, where she was inspired by her grandmother, Queen Narriman, and her beloved father, HM King Fouad II, the last King of Egypt. This passion deepened during her studies in Egypt, where she devoted time to immersing herself in the Arabic language and Egyptian culture.

In 2010, after several extended stays, Princess Fawzia settled in Egypt, where she worked in the field of sustainable development. She became immersed in the exceptional talent of the artisans, especially women. It was at this time that she began planning to promote Egyptian craftsmanship on a global scale.

Between 2014 and 2020, she served as a diplomat and then executive of the Government of the Principality of Monaco, working on international relations projects with dedication and expertise.

Prince Rainier III of Monaco and King Farouk were friends. The wedding of the Princess's parents took place at the Palace of Monaco on April 17, 1976, in the presence of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace, among others. Princess Fawzia was born in Monaco and chose Monaco to live with her husband, Sylvain Renaudeau, and raise her children, a microelectronics engineer, and their two children, Naël, 5, and Dounia, 3, also Egyptian and Monegasque. They travel very frequently to Egypt, where the Princess continues to promote Egyptian intangible heritage and craftsmanship. Her commitment to preserving and nurturing these traditions is reflected in her role as Honorary Ambassador of the Egyptian Fashion and Design Council (EFDC). She is also very active in various philanthropic initiatives for children and women.
