I am in Dubai and it is no coincidence that I listen to the magical stories of this amazing lady covered in pearls and diamonds. It shines and emanates light, warmth, courage and above all that extraordinary spirit that I call the DESERT ROSE. Who is Asma BinHendi?
It is recommended that Umm Mohammad means, according to Arabic tradition, Mother of Mohammad In fact, Asma Bin Hendi is the happy mother of 5 splendid daughters and a son. The wife of the great tycoon BinHendi tells me about her beautiful family, about her marvelous and beloved grandchildren, and nothing can move her more than the history of Dubai and the wisdom of Al Maktoum and Al Nahyan ruling families. The BinHendi company was founded in 1974 by her husband and has a wide spectrum of activities in very different fields such as high jewelry, fashion, hospitality, pharma products, etc. Talking with Asma about everything that means the BinHendi family, the BinHendi Company , everything comes together in the same word: Dubai.
Asma, how do you describe Dubai today?
Dubai is brighter than ever and has become a universal brand, a magnet for all those who want to discover our cultural, traditional and tourist treasure. The United Arab Emirates is now the symbol of the modern world that was born and based on the pillars of our ancestral traditions.
Who influenced this extraordinary economical , social , educational development in such a short time?
We were and are lucky to be guided by extraordinary leaders with very broad and generous visions. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan are the ones who built and continue to build a magnificent world and not only for us locals but also for the many nationalities that work and live in our country. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid were the historical Leaders to start this extraordinary journey and today here we are in the Golden Era of the modernity at highest level.
What does the BinHendi family mean and how do your children get involved in society, especially since each one has a special career, for example Maha is a lawyer already with a high reputation in the field?
BinHendi is a huge company built with a lot of work and professionalism by Mr Binhendi & my unique six children.I took care of our children but I always supported my family .we were and are an extraordinary team. I got married at the age of 15 and life gave me wonderful moments, I overcame all difficulties easily and with a lot of respect for our values. Dubai is our home, we are blessed.
My children, my 5 daughters and my son Mohammad bear the responsibility of carrying our name forward with everything that is more beautiful and good. We are part of a nation of good and generous people, peaceful and very friendly with other cultures.
I taught my children to be proud of being born in the UAE and to love Dubai as they love themselves. Dubai, as I said, is our home and our soul.
My son Mohammad is very inspired by the visions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed,His highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid & the Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. We have a magnificent history and we are a society that has already reached the highest heights of civilization. I have so much to tell! I am proud of my country and i am proud as mother and woman to have such inspiration in Her Highness Sheikha Hind spouse of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid and mother of the Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan. Thanks to them the desert is blooming and Dubai is growing and shining more and more.

And yes, the fairy tale continues because I am starting a new, magical, wonderful book, with many surprises for my readers because only culture can unite people and build bridges of friendship durable in times and centuries.
