LIND BRINGS ‘A NEW WAY TO PLAY’

 EXHIBITION TO MONACO YACHT SHOW

WITH CUSTOM ART BOARDS TO SUPPORT OCEANIC GLOBAL

MORE THAN A DOZEN BOARDS HIGHLIGHTING THE WORK OF RENOWNED CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS AND SHAPERS PART OF DISPLAY TOURING GLOBALLY THROUGH DECEMBER

Building on the momentum of a successful launch at the Cannes Yachting Festival, LIND is delighted to bring its ‘A New Way to Play’ exhibition to the Monaco Yacht Show, September 25-28. Known for blending traditional surfboard craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, their series of custom art boards will be displayed in key locations throughout the show, alongside the LIND Canvas, the brand’s inaugural stock release. This showcase serves as a sneak peek of the full exhibition, which will debut later this year.

With exceptional design at the core of their offerings, LIND conceptualized the exhibition as a collaboration between style and science. For it, they hand-selected 12 of the world’s most renowned contemporary artists and board shapers to create works tied to the theme ‘A New Way to Play.’ Hinting at broader themes of imagination, improvisation, individualism and fun, the concept encourages visitors to explore this intersection of technology and art, highlighting how these elements can inspire new forms of expression.

At the Monaco Yacht Show, eight boards will be displayed at the Lounge by IYC that can be accessed directly from the Route de la Piscine without a MYS pass, or through the MYS VIP entrance on the upper part of the port with a MYS pass. Works include: Midnight Cowgirl and Beast of Friends by Terry Urban; Orchid Onyx and Floral Explosion by Jessica Kayll; Studio Floor and Marine, fluorescent, metallic diffused by Erik Skoldberg; Royal Blue by Robert L. Zetterberg; a surprise wood board by Martijn Stiphout.

Each work is elegantly displayed with a minimalist metal plaque containing a QR code that leads to a microsite with more information on the board, the artist, and how to bid on the one-of-akind boards. Following the Monaco show, the exhibition will then travel to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and to Miami Art Week in December with additional boards set to be introduced and rotated in at each location.

The 2024 exhibition will culminate in December with an auction of the boards during Art Week to raise vital funds and awareness for Oceanic Global, an international NGO that reconnects humanity to the Ocean as the lifeblood of our planet and provides tangible solutions and blueprints for coexisting in harmony with the natural world.

Said Anders Dellson, Co-Founder and CEO of LIND, “Our dream is to be able to experience the feeling of surfing anywhere there is water. At LIND, we are builders, boarders, and creatives who strive to tell an intriguing and original visual story that’s true to who we are. We take pride in the individualism of our product and the ‘A New Way to Play’ Exhibition allows us to not only demonstrate each board’s unique identity and meticulous craftsmanship, but to raise money for the very playground on which we play. We are proud to support the important work that Oceanic Global is doing.”

Tested and refined over countless hours, LIND is the result of the relentless pursuit to make a truly great product that pushes the boundaries of innovation while honoring surf’s most enduring traditions. Designed and engineered entirely in-house, it’s completely tool-less and fully modular with a drivetrain that delivers an astounding 27hp to reach top speeds of 60km/h.

At only 7kg or 15lbs, the board is exceptionally light and can be carried under one arm with the battery and jet in a custom designed backpack. The set-up process is incredibly straightforward and can be completed in just 15 seconds, ensuring less time preparing and more time to enjoy the ride.

Like everything else, the battery is custom designed in-house with the world’s finest materials to optimize for weight, durability, corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity and more. With the LIND charger, the battery charges to 100% in a standard US 120-volt outlet in just two hours, and a 230-volt outlet in just one hour.

Shaped by surfboard shapers to draw upon the longstanding heritage of the sport, alongside a team of experienced industrial designers and electro-mechanical engineers to develop the latest technological enhancements, LIND boards are highly agile and intuitive, efficiently planing and carving through the water. Controlled utilizing a sleek and fine-tuned wireless remote, the board smoothly accelerates as the user gets their footing, opening up gradually until max capacity is reached. A marriage of grace and power, it’s as authentic a surfing experience one can have, no matter the water conditions.

Reservations are open through the LIND website at www.lind.surf.
