On September 12, 2024, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene inaugurated an extremely important building in the life of the Principality. Monaco is acquiring a new college, which will be able to accommodate up to 1,500 students. The princely couple inaugurated the school building late in the morning.

The Îlot Pasteur is a multifunctional urban complex that includes a new college. The proximity to the other rooms that the site includes, such as a media library and a 1,500-seat multipurpose room, will facilitate the organization of school activities.

The Collège Charles III will be able to accommodate up to 1,500 students. The school site has 102 classes. Prince Albert II unveiled the establishment’s inaugural plaque, in the presence of the new Minister of State, Didier Guillaume. The Archbishop of Monaco, Mgr Dominique-Marie David, was also present.

Visit to the Charles III College by the princely couple

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene visited the college after the inauguration ceremony. The princely couple walked through the corridors of the school and stopped in two classrooms. Albert and Charlene also visited the school restaurant and the amphitheater.

The Head of State and his wife ended their visit with a presentation of the sports facilities, which include a swimming pool and a very large gymnasium. The Charles III College welcomed its first students at the start of the school year, this Monday, September 9, 2024. The college is named after the great-great-great-grandfather of Prince Albert II. Charles III reigned from 1856 to 1889.
